The Canadiens will try to win three consecutive games for the first time this season as they visit the Blues at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The Tricolore have a 3-1-1 record on the road this season.

Jacob Fowler will make his third consecutive start, marking the second time already this season that he has done so. That’s no small feat when you consider that the 21-year-old goaltender began the season with the Rocket and that this is only the Canadiens’ 12th game of the season. Fowler has a 5-1 record, a 1.79 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in six starts this season. He’ll be looking to extend his winning streak to six games tonight. With a win, Fowler would join Rogie Vachon, who also won six consecutive games at age 21 in 1966–67. Carey Price holds the record with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, having won seven straight during the 2007–08 season. The NHL record belongs to Carter Hart, with eight wins in the 2019 season, as well as a certain Jocelyn Thibault, who did it with the Nordiques in 1995!

Arber Xhekaj is off to an excellent start this season, but thinking he wouldn’t end up in the press box at some point is like believing in Santa Claus. With Kris Draper attending another Canadiens game and Adam Engstrom in the lineup, there’s plenty to wonder about. One thing is certain: where there’s smoke, there’s fire—and, in my opinion, things are about to heat up!

The Canadiens have lost their last three matchups against the Blues, and five of their last six. The Habs last win in St. Louis was on October 29, 2022. The Blues have a 5-5-1 record this season and are 3-1-1 at home. If Martin St-Louis’s team hopes to pick up both points in the standings, they’ll have to slow down Robert Thomas, who has scored two goals and recorded four assists in his last three games against the Montreal team.

Season prediction: 7-4
Guaranteed win: 2-0

Prediction:
MTL – 2
STL – 3

With that, have a great rest of your day, everyone, and enjoy tonight’s game. #GoHabsGo
