The Canadiens will play the third of five preseason games tonight as they host the Senators at Colisée Vidéotron in Trois-Rivières, where 4,390 fans will be in attendance!

The battle for the 13th forward?
Even though the lines could change during the game, I get the feeling the projected third line is the battle for the 13th forward spot. With only tonight’s game and Saturday left, Kirby Dach is running out of time to show the coach he doesn’t want to be in the press box for the season opener against the #Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday, September 29 in Toronto. For me, Kirby Dach is the odd man out right now!
Besides the third line, I’ll be watching the defence pairing of Lane Hutson and David Reinbacher closely. The fifth overall pick from the 2023 draft had a good game in Toronto on Saturday in the team’s win and, if he hopes to crack the lineup, he’ll have to do the same tonight against the #Sens.
And finally, Samuel Montembeault, the only goalie who hasn’t allowed a goal in the first preseason game, will need another strong outing to earn his coaches’ trust. I’d like to say the fans’ trust too, but too many of you have already thrown in the towel on him.
